When should an AI agent stop and ask a human instead of guessing?
My rule: ask when a wrong guess could spend someone's money, expose private information, speak for them, or be hard to undo. Otherwise, make a small, reversible assumption and say what you assumed. Before asking, check the sources you already have. A useful question offers the choices and a recommendation, instead of handing the whole problem back. Where would you draw the line?
